Fub-TAS-tic weekend! Left Friday and arrived in upstate NY 5+ hours Shocked later. Dropped off the cars at her new place in the middle of the Blair Witch woods (seriously hellacreepy at night) next to the log cabin (can you imagine me in the WOODS in the COUNTRY?) and walked back to the bar where we definitely got our on. The walk back home a few hours later was interesting, including a discussion about hotwiring an orange-bronze Porsche/Not Porsche and me singing "No, Je Ne Regrette Rien" on the top of my lungs. Her poor neighbors. For those of you who don't know, she's the blonde, I am the redhead.

Saturday short 4M run, followed by clean-up. We pile in the car and head 1.5 hours MORE north to Lake Placid. We get closer and I see snow! I LOVE SNOW! And RLAG, who hates snow despite living in upstate NY, knew I loved it within five minutes as for the first hour I literally jumped up and down screaming "I LOVE SNOW!" and "THIS IS SO WIGGEDY WACK, YO!" Yes, she must really love me to put up with that insanity . We did some shopping, where I discovered they actually DO make boots large enough to fit my immense rocklike calves, that I can easily spend over $43 in a candy store called the Candyman which can be offset by a sharp wool hat for only $6, and that I've got some serious hillwork ahead of me for the next 20 months.

Me in SEVEN inches of virgin snow:

Self-portraits by me (isn't she absolutely STUNNING???):

(can't flip Sad so turn head):

The lake I shall be swimming in come July 2005 (look familiar, Dancer & Happy? thumbs up):

at dinner in LP:

dessert = "Chocolate Perversion" - this is only half of it. Chocolate brownie topped with chocolate ice cream topped with chocolate mousse topped with hot fudge topped with whipped cream topped with chocolate sprinkles. SOOO good!

I sobered up on the ride home after three pints of microbrew Mr. Green and we watched the cheerleading classic "Bring IT On" and some TV. Sunday we lounged, watched the great cinematic classic "Dude, Where's My Car?", went to eat, and then I sadly departed for what was a 4.5 hour trip home. Definitely what I needed given my life lately.

I hope that everyone has a friend like RLAG, who not only likes your eccentric crazy side but freely welcomes it, that you can feel 100% uninhibited around, who you always have a great time with no matter what you do. My ribs and throat hurt from laughing so much. I could not have asked for a more perfect weekend.

Who you callin' ladies? Wink Hopefully there will be less ice in the water then so maybe a little warmer. On land it was somewhere between 20-25 degrees. Brrr.

I rarely even thought of my own husband, so no.

So much fun. Did I mention I LOVE SNOW?

Love the pics-looks like the two of you had a great time.
1)Lake Placid looks so different in the winter.
2)I LOVE SNOW TOO!!!!!
3)Do tell me more about the boots. Mainly what brand-I have similar problem with my calves.
4)RLAG-make sure you get tons of pics this coming weekend!
