do you take personal time to rest and kick it? or do you suck it up and work through it, what are you going to do at home anyway?
between the lines: why do I feel guilt asking for the afternoon off???

Depends on the type of sick, how bad I feel, etc. If it's a stomach thing, I stay home. Migraine headache, stay home. Cold, go to work.

When I was younger I'd stick it out. But now that I'm an old broad I say too heck with it. Don't feel guilty Pffff. It's not worth it.

The latter. And as senile as she (now officially) is, Akey's right - no use worrying over it.

Go home and sleep. It will [hopefully] shorten the duration.

When I had a decent job to give a crap about, I'd suck it up no matter what. Now, I say screw em.....it's definitely not worth it and I stay home.

I'm a sucker upper too. I could really bring myself down by sitting/laying around dwelling on the fact that I feel like sh*t. Plus I'm the boss, I gotta see what the hells going on.

If it's just the sniffles, I'll come in and work in my office with the door closed. If it's more serious, I'll stay home.

I feel like I'm getting the flu. I just force fed myself my chicken soup I brought for lunch. I figure it should help things or make things turn dramatically south quick. Report to come shortly.

I try to save my "sick" days for when my kids are sick. I'll go if I can still function and actually do work. I do this becasue I can isolate myself (and my germs) from others in my office.

my sick time pretty much gets used up by the Nine-Year-Old. Although, not as much as when she was the Four-Year-Old.
I'm lucky, I don't get sick much.
