These are hardly desperate times. These are just times where parents caved. I didn't note the part in the article where it says, "We even tried to ground them/take away TV/not allow them to use the phone." I think I'd try these things before I camped out on the front lawn for a while.

If the kids had any creativity, they'd lock the door and send their parents a pizza.
