...............step forward?? I'm not allowed to use your name in the thread title and I just spent 10 min. on a PM that can't be sent.
Yeah, more boob talk guys. Serious stuff though.
I have a dear friend who saw a Dr. today about implants. She is scheduled for surgery next week. I'm concerned about her pain tolerance. She is 23 and has no children. She is also a body builder and they asked her today if she wanted the implants under or on top of the muscle. Do you know the differences? Can you share your experience including recovery?? Was it as bad or worse than you expected??
If anyone else has any knowledge please feel free to share.
I'm personally against this but she has made up her mind. I just want some info. I will take her for the surgery and support her.

That's exactly what scares me too. I've seen some of those shows too.

Well, to be honest, being the biggest wuss in the world and having the lowest pain threshold EVAH, this was a cakewalk. I was never in pain, really, but was uncomfortable for the first 48 hours, and that was pretty much it. I only took 2 pain pills and those were to help me sleep at night more than anything.
Going over the muscle isn't something I'd advise. I doubt she will hurt the implant working out if it is under the muscle. I am bowflexing again, doing my chest exercises and we're good. Lots of the gals on the implant forum workout and have it under the muscle. This is said to help avoid capsular contracture, and is also better for when she gets to the mammogram stage of her life. Under the muscle is supposed to be more painful, but I have nothing to compare it to and like I said, it didn't hurt, just felt like I had an anvil on my upper chest for a while.
I'll email you the link to the forum I visited when I was getting ready for this. Just take it all with a grain of salt. No two experiences are identical, and some of the things you read there are very scary. I have to tell you too, I think a lot of it is positive attitude. I just went in knowing that this would be great and I'd feel fine, and it was and I did. When you read the stories on the forum, seems like a lot them were in pain.
Send me your email and we can talk more if you need to. totally.brie@gmail.com. I definitely want your friend to do the herbal regimen I did. I think that helped a lot with bruising and healing. And I still have all my paperwork so I can leaf through that and see if there is anything else she needs.
And how nice that you're going to help her through this. My neighbors were so helpful and I just don't know how we'd have done this without them. And support is so key, as is research.

Brie, would you be so kind as to post some before and after pics so we can judge the effectiveness of this type of surgery? Strictly for educational value only so us men can speak intelligently to women asking us our opinions on breast implanting.
