the teachers agreed to move an Act 80 day (teacher's inservice/clerical day) to 2 evenings, so that students could get out of school relatively close to schedule. (thanks to all those snow days, we would have been going into summer....) so tonight is the first evening, 3 hours after school today, and again on monday.
I'll be looking for you.

I've always wondered how much work gets done on Act 80 days. Not so much? I would think that if the kids aren't there that it would be easy to think of it as off time.
I don't ask to pass judgement, btw. Just curious about your perspective.

When I went to school I wondered who the Nuns hit without the students there....

it really depends. if there is a good speaker, then it can be a productive day. if they let us alone to do our clerical/classroom work it can also be productive. however, there are just too many Act 80 days where the inservice programs are a waste of time: one time, this district certified about all 600 teachers in CPR and the use of a defribillator (all in one day, in a 2 hour session with about 300 teachers in each session) I tore up that certification card. there's no way I felt qualified to perform such actions.
