how soaked i was this morning and how much this morning SUCKED.
i worked at the zoo last night/this morning. apparently this group was the second half of the school that came on wed nite. the kids i had were THE BIGGEST BUNCH OF OVER PRIVILAGED BRATS i have ever seen. and i have seen lots of bratty kids. and these were the good ones. i guess the first group was a bunch of heathens.
so the night portion went fairly well. the group was about 45 minutes late and was very slow to get started, so we decided to run a full program just almost an hour behind. my kids were so bad that i skipped two activites and finished at 10.
i wake up this morning to find torrential down pour accompanied by thunder and lightning. since we had almost 200 people we decided to set up breakfast in a huge tent about 100 yards from "base camp" (a central location for night crawlers). luckily we had a van and could load it up with tables and breakfast stuff, but no one, absolutely NO ONE would come out in the rain to help us. so by 8:30 this morning, i was completely soaked down to my underwear. its going to take days for my shoes to dry.
so while me and the other instructors are running around in the rain in a desparate attempt to get things set up, the kids and adults are whining that theyre hungry, its cold, theyre hungry, i dont wanna get wet. 
i have had a lot of bad kids before, but these were by far THE WORST.

sorry, yes it was a soaking morning
as for the shoes try stuffing them with newspaper and changing the paper out a few times. or just use the dryer on low heat (and ear plugs)

Maybe she should do that with some of those kids. Ear plugs optional.

gdawg, stuffing them with paper sounds like a swell idea.
i felt bad for the older instructor. shes probably in her 50s and shes tiny. shorter than me (im 5ft, barely.) she got stuck with the group of freakishly tall seventh graders. they all towered over her. she could not keep them in control AT ALL. at least i had a bunch of girly girls and normal size boys.
