My first thought was "they haven't played the last 15 weeks, what makes you think they're gonna play this one?"
Poor Brett.

THE PACKERS ARE BACK IN THE REGGIE BUSH BOWL!!! | They don't need a running back.
They need a new coach. |
That may need be....but the coach doesn't play the game. All things being equal, if just the coach was changed, would the Pack be a better team? Don't they need improvement elsewhere....?
No knock against the QB (who's bound for the H.O.F. in Canton, OH.), but would changing coaches be the answer?
My guess is that next year will be Brett Favre's last season.
And it will be a successful one, too.

And there has been a disastorous drop in special teams play. Now the latter may be a one-season aberration. But the defense - something should have been done (better choices, better uses of the players at hand, trades, I don't know). The coach does not play, true. But he decides who to play. He has to play the cards he's dealt , and he's not playing them well.

I don't want to hear any complaining from the Packers fans.... just wait for 15 straight seasons of losing.... then.... and only then.... do you have the right to complain.

what i saw last night was appalling, while one guy was making a great play there was another packer pretty close just watching, not blocking, not knocking off defenders or anything, it was like watching a fight and watching "your posse" back off and let you fight against 11 all by yourself.
coaching does need changed, if the players feel thay can watch the game and need not play then coaches aren't motivating them properly.

This sounds familiar...oh, yeah! I had the Packer's game confused with the Lions' last game. With all respect due the Bengals/Bugles/Bangles/Bungles/Bungholes, the Lions just phoned it in.

College "great" coaches (i.e., Dan Devine from Notre Dame) couldn't help - in fact, someone in GB shot his dogs on his front lawn. Then management made the mistake of bringing in great ex-Packers to try and fix it - Forrest Gregg and Bart Starr. That didn't help, either. From, like, 1969 to 1987, they may have had two winning seasons. We've been there and done that.

I think you best rethink your thrashing of the defense. Sure, we don't have much for start talent, but this is one case (this year) where a coach has come in and done the job with what he had. Check the numbers.
If Sherman goes, I see no reason why Bates shouldn't get the head coaching position.

Refresh my memory...didn't Gregg take the Bengals to the NFL Championship with Ken Anderson, and Sam Wyche took them to the final game with Boomer Esiason?
It's been so long, I can't remember...did the Bengals ever win one of those championship games?

Too many crucial penalties on defense (especially the backfield) at the wrong time. That is a discipline problem - physical talent (whether good or bad) will never overcome mental lapses.
Oh, and back to coaches don't decide the games - Ray "Let the other team score so we can get the ball back" Rhodes?
