I cried during my last haircut before I moved in Kentucky. We both cried. Macy was FABULOUS. And then it took me a year to find someone here. A year of mullets. Hair is a very very sensitive issue...

I've had three hair people in fifteen years here. The first one, Rudd, moved away, and I found Michael, aka "Butter." (yes, what you're imagining is probably right on.) He moved away. And now I have Brittany, my Marissa Tomei look-alike hair person. She's really good, takes her time, and makes me look good. My hair is so weird, and I'm so weird about my hair, I don't even consider what I'm spending. On top of that, you've got to be prety tough to cut my hair given the road map on the back of my scalp.

So she get's a $10 tip on a $28 cut. She doesn't seem to mind.

[I got mulletted once. I'm still deeply emotionally scarred. I could show you where, which chair and describe the woman in detail. ]

I'm an over-tipper, always have been and always will be. I don't do a percentage, I just kinda figure out what I'm gonna give them on the spot. I try to imagine how many tips they've missed out on while doing my hair (many people come and go in the course of my hair appts) and tip accordingly.

Uh huh. I told Brittany she's not allowed to leave town. She gave me a when I told her why.

No this mullet hit me at this scary little hair place right on Bardstown Road at Bonnycastle... right next to Leatherhead.

She thought I looked HOT. And she said so too.

Roy's. Where is Roy's? That name sounds familiar. Roy's.

Dude, you're not supposed to get your hair cut at Electric Ladyland... I know exactly what place you are talking about, hair and now, or something, sort of punkish?

THAT's it! She was really tan and really skinny and smoked a LOT. (Electric Ladyland has moved, it's now down by Kroger. Ear Ectasy is the rage now)

Ahhh... where the Sliders USED to be. No more, my friend, no more. If'n you want a slider, you gotta head out to Hikes Point, or head downtown.
[skritches his head... Holy Spirit and Cherokee?]

Before your time?
Oh no. Just that Bacon's Hair place skeered me.

Sorry, see correction above: St. Matthews. CHENOWETH and maybe Holy Trinity (got my native american words/catholic churches mixed up, sorry) and WTF about White Castle Mad Mad Mad Evil or Very Mad That place was a landmark. Mad Seriously, that building had to have been 100 years old...

I don't know if Dillard's still has a hair place, but Bacon's used to have a really nice salon before Dillard's took over (and wasn't pleased about it from what I heard) but it could be really bad if you went in there without a name. Thus, I got gold (as in the metal) highlights once from a girl with pink hair. lesson learned

if they are missing a few front teeth, keep talking about "Pa 'n I out at the woodshed."

That should have been your first clue about her.
