I had 8 tracks too.... Original Chicago Transit Authority....and I think Bay City Rollers....

Don't remember my first, but I seem to remember it was "Paperback Writer"
My brother's first 45 was Rhinstone Cowboy...
So my parents used to buy us each A 45 for our birthdays. Think they wondered why we played it over and over and over and over? Sometimes they puzzle me...

My first two 45's were Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall and Loverboy's Workin' for the Weekend, given to me by my brother. I was so excited.
My first purchased 45 was "Are you Lonesome Tonight" by Elvis Presley. I still have a stack in my garage with my LPs.
I wish I had a record player again. Those were the days, my friend.
