Oh really.....  I just didn't buy the feelings for each other. It was like 2 cowboys hanging out being cowboys then all of the sudden they were supposedly hot for each other?? Maybe it gets better as it goes along.... |
i saw it too. struggled with the story. then again, i've never been a cowboy, or gay for that matter. so who am i to judge?

This I wanted to see! It was a very limited release.
And as for Brokeback--I didn't see it, but whether you're gay or straight--there is chemistry that should exist to make a romance believable.
If there's no chemistry then
I remember that was the biggest detractor for movies like Eyes Wide with Kidman and Cruise. Despite being married there was no chemistry that made the movie sizzle.

Aire - That was kind of a plot point for Eyes Wide Shut. It was a marriage that was hurting and that they had lost their chemistry and their intimacy. But, overall it was a cold, cold movie. Entertaining, sort of, but nothing that makes you go woooo!
Finished Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last night. That Johnny Depp is a weird cat.

The same could be said though of Baldwin and Bassinger when they did that movie together. No sizzle.
Although Brangelina had sizzle even though Mr/Mrs Smith was a lead weight.

I saw "Hoot" on Saturday. It was me and 4 other people in the theater (2 separate mom/daughter outings). I really liked the book, and am leading a book discussion on it next month so wanted to see the movie. The movie was pretty good, too.
