Basically, you should expect your letter to arrive in N + 1 days from the date of affixing your stamp, where N stands for the incorrect zip code divided by Pi. It's standard postal service operating procedure. I once got a birthday card postmarked in July in February. I got a letter that the machine had eaten partially too about 3 months after it was postmarked. Not the same thing as you, but goes to show how ridiculous the postal system can be IMO.
