some jerkyboy is trying to convince me that a dvd he sold me (my brother actually) without artwork or anything, is legit.

the label on the disk i the exam same as the "cover" he's using for the other dvds that came with artwork. most dvds don't just crop the cover of the box and use it as a label.

that and it's off centred.

and it doesn't have any copyright information on it.

and it certainly isn't being sold anywhere near the price that it usually sells for (its a rare dvd that fetches close to $80 guarunteed on ebay).

and he sold like 30 of them.

he tells me he got it at a flea market and they were all sealed (forgetting that mine wasn't sealed and that he even gave me a partial refund for it).

i got news for yah bud, it's not real, i'm getting my money back, and i'm gonna dial up that number you get at the start of every movie saying "copying this dvd is theft and violates copyright law". and he can deal with them.

So what DVD was this, and at what price?

Got pictures?

I'm just curious.

Pug - Gleaming the Cube with no artwork, at $14 (give or take a few bucks). keeping in mind that auction said it was new and sealed at the top of the auction, so my brother missed the "no artwork" part.

i can get a picture for you... it's really well done. there is actually a "Gleaming the Cube" mark on the bottom side of the dvd. and if you look at the part where the dvd is burnt, it looks all wavey, not like a normal dvd disc would. it's messed.

MB - yeah, it's one thing if you don't know what your selling, but this guy has like 30 of 'em, and insists they aren't fake. he's getting the rat out f'sure.

Ooooh, that should've tipped you off right then! Flea markets - notorious for knockoffs.

Do you mean to say that my $5 Oakleys might not be legit?

What about my Nike baseball cap with Winnie the Pooh on the front and Tommy Hilfger on the back?

Hey boys, don't look at me! I'm not the one having a problem with something I've purchased. I mean, if you don't care that what you've purchased is a knockoff, no biggie. But if someone tells you that he bought it at a flea market? And he wants you to think that it's legit? Smile at him. He's either not-all-there or he's gullible or he's stupid...or all of the above.
