Posted: 10/10/03 - 08:55 Post subject: what have you learned THIS week?
I've learned:
1. Downtime from running, while mentally difficult, is great for the body and allows much more sleep in your schedule. It's a good thing.
2. I can spend minimal to no time here due to work constraints and really not miss too much.
3. Running with a hangover sucks.
4. Repeatedly forgetting to eat due to work constraints will make you dizzy and woozy at odd times.
5. Team 3's captain is not just a great friend, but is a supreme motivator and supportive force.
Now. You. Go.

I've learned:
1) That I'm not very productive in the afternoon when there's beer involved with lunch.
2) It sucks having to call out your superiors when they screw something up badly.

I learned
-That I'm so bored without my hubby and miss him so much.
-That a dog is great company when home alone.
-My mind is Freaky!!!
-It's sick that I get so excited to run a 1/2 marathon.
-Staying up until 11:30pm isn't an option for me anymore.
-Team 2 ROCKS!!! And our team captain is super organized!!!

ooh ooh...I've been waiting for this.
* The only thing better than finishing a half-marathon with your is the hot shower and nap with your that follows.
* It's possible to covet your co-workers conversion van. Despite the fact that it would be highly impractical to run such a beast.
* Telling someone to photocopy her butt on 65% reduction can brighten her day.
* Having your boss think of you as someone he can trust with his home is a helluva compliment.
* Having your son scowl at you because you just don't have the money for something he wants (Not NEEDS) sucks.

- More running makes me very hungry
- I'm the new Editor for my bike club
- You can have nothing to do all day and still work late because of a 4PM meeting
- Online companies (Bike Nashbar) do not answer e-mail questions (4 days now). Why do they bother putting the address on their website. They will be getting a nasty-gram later

- reconfirmed that I hate pictures of myself

- my kids rock, reinforced by the displays of love to me over and over
- when I say I don't care about getting presents for a birthday, it's only true that I don't care about purchased presents... i still want thoughtful, no money ones

A phone call has worked every time for me. Both they and Performance are thumbsup in my book.
What I've lurnt- I'm way more nervous about a 5K I'm not even racing in (just running it) than the duathlon that I'm actually racing in the following day
- We all lead glass lives that can shatter at any moment
- Too much downtime makes me stir crazy
- If I have to clean one more set of butt cheeks off the copier glass, I'm going to scream.

I've learned:
1. After awhile one airport looks the same as any other, while on the road.
2. If I miss a week here I've missed too much.
3. Running 5km with an extra 3500 ft of elevation in the cold sucks.
4. Nothing rocks better than a roaring fire, hot coco and a cat named "Poopers".

I learned:
1---that I worry too much and my son is too much like me
2---that my others son's popularity is intimidating to me and brother
3---that although hubby is proud of my running accomplishments, he is also jealous
4---that my hubby puts too many eggs in a basket for me to handle
5---that because you win some races, people think you're an expert on nutrition
6---that hubby thinks #5 is funny
7---that I can't give up marathons as long as I'm still able.
8---that I'd rather think up more answers than cleaning my house today.

1. Based on last year's race results, my slow ax should be in the middle of the pack next week.
2. My PR for the 5K would allow me to actually compete and would have placed me second last year.
3. I need to eat healthier
4. The doctor says i am allergic to dust, grass, and trees: Also known as life.

That if a furniture delivery person says they will be there between 12 and 3, it means they will be there at 2:59, and it will take them one minute to set it up.
Also, that a forced three hours of downtime, while boring, makes for excellent chances to catch up with phone calls, emails, and Riff Raff.

I've reinforced my knowledge that group projects suck.
I've learned...
It's actually kinda nice running on a track at 6 am, in the dark, and in pea soup fog.
There is no such thing as a good roommate.
Biking with a booksack isn't very comfortable.
Apparently, I should go meet chicks at the laundromat.
