Posted: 09/26/03 - 09:10 Post subject: what have you learned THIS week?
I've learned:
- most people can't differentiate my sarcasm, whether blatant or subtle, from being serious
- I can be happy with my running results, despite falling short of self-imposed marks, if I know I've put in my best effort
- many RRers are well-versed in the art of diplomacy
- the promise of gummy lobsters is exciting - for a whole week even
- being an inspiration to someone is a very tough moniker fro me to accept
Now. You. Go!

-getting sick the day before you are set to move really sucks
-My old buddy Earl barely counts as a friend anymore
-putting a plastic bag in the front of your undies is apparently good wind protection for winter running (thanks jrjo)

- For 15+ years old, our dog is pretty resilient.
- "Rock And Roll Fantasy Camp" has made it to the syndicated re-runs of The Simpsons. So now I can sleep happy.
- RR people as opposed to CH people are like the Green Bay Packers as opposed to the Chicago Bears. Good vs. evil. And good always comes out on top.
- That autumn is my favorite season of the year. To sleep with the windows open, yet needing the comforter, is a pleasure.

musicals and me are starting to get along quite well.
blowing bubbles and seeing kids laugh is one of the best ways to spend an hour.
having kids squirt each other with a hose is hilarious. Especially when the say I am firefighter squirting Hannah.
teaching literature is more fun than I thought.
Even though people have high expectations of me, they still are not disappointed when I let them down.

- speech therapist loves jake, thinks he is bright and loveable and all things good.
- my husband is an a$$clown and I'm trying to decide if I want to remain married to him. Serious thinking to do.
- I have two weeks left in the semester and not a lot to do, but I'm burning out, quickly.
- I miss my dad. Nothing new, but reinforced.
- espresso machine is great, should've got one a long time ago.

But....when did the Packers join the forces of good? | Always been there. That's the one part of Genesis that got edited out.

i've learned:
that the sax solo in Bruce Springsteen's Jungleland still moves me.
i haven't a clue what true loneliness feels like.
people in this Marlboro smokin-Blatz drinkin-county still do not get the SPAY/NEUTER concept and are largely ignorant animals themselves because of it
my daughter has a preoccupation with gothic teenagers. the "i dress to depress" crowd has her attention

People here seem to be of a kinder gentler nature.
Fall is going to hit us hard and soon (I speak for those of us in the NE USA)
WalMart is selling Starter brand version of "Under Armor" LS and SS Shirts for about 1/2 the price of the original - same material, same feel.
Fall is wonderful for running.
I started running again after 4 months of no running due to plantar fasciitis and knee tendon problems. Knee and foot seem OK. (Doing a 5K Sunday to see if its over)
When running in cold weather, Brooks' "Runderwear' is much more comfortable than plastic bags.

Lessee..
I learned that the State of New York needs to paint the road lines in some REFLECTIVE paint.
I learned that as long as there is daylight, my son will read in the car.
I learned that friends don't let friends suffer without good music.
I learned that absence does make the grow fonder.
