Posted: 09/05/03 - 08:57 Post subject: what have you learned THIS week?
Me:
- running nearly 4 hours in very boring but also quite rewarding
- a disturbing # of RR wimmins think blue eyelashes and pink lips are a stunning combo
- creepy school guys are not easily intimidated
- it is possible to do little to no work for weeks and have no one notice
- PH's new BMI calculator is stupid, petty, and childish (just ask robp)
Now. You. Go.

This week I've learned:
- A lot of RR guys think pink eyelashes and blue lipstick are a stunning combo.
- Just because he's in Colorado doesn't mean our son can't still pester us for a car.
- I can run negative splits in training. I actually can.
- I am appreciating the time that we still have with our dog.
- Fall weather is far and away the best weather to run in.

-The Senior VPs here with their big fancy orifaces can't make a decision to save their lives. How did they get there?
-You get to sleep in when tapering
- A lot of people don't follow thru on promises. Not new, just reinforced.
- My accident claim is close to settlement.

I learned...
- That someone on some show is the son of one of the Commodores.
- Things haven't changed OVER THERE. They still think I'm a crackho.
- Long distance relationship suck. *sigh* I want my RANGER!!!!
- I have more in common with someone than I ever thought a year ago.
- I can keep a clean house and a clean car if I am vigilant.
- Music I would never otherwise listen to is awesome for long runs. (Eminem "Lose Yourself" is the BOMB)
- You can be pissed at and feel bad for someone at the same time.
- Piz Wat is an excellent cuss word. Interchangeable for just about everything.

-That I am still in awe of some of The RR accomplishments and how they train. You all rock!
-That my childhood/growing up insecurities still linger into adulthood (no confidence in new sporting arenas=no go). I wouldn't go to the new pool in fear I was being looked at.
-That I can overcome these insecurities by just going and doing it. I went to the pool the next day, jumped in and just started to swim. Who cares if other's are better than you? I did just fine.
-That childhood friends can still be there for you. Mine sent me a Tri training book.
-That mixing beer/drinks will make me pay for it the next day. When will I ever learn?
-That some RR's have grueling school/college schedules. Good Luck all!
-That this forum is addicting!
Have a great weekend!!!

Eleanor Roosevelt said "No one can make you feel inferior without your permission." For the most part that's true, but it doesn't help any when you imagine that there is a line of peope at the pool's edge like this --->
Good for you for going anyway!!
