"OK, let's get down to it boppers..." I've learned:

- it is possible for me to be really courteous and nice to people, and like it
- despite traveling via hot truck from wholesaler to distributer, and via hot FedEx van from distributor to me 100% intact, a Luna bar left in my car will melt into interesting shapes
- if I can run in 102 degrees and 98% humidity, I can run in anything
- someone closing a car door on my foot doesn't make me cry, but seeing the genuine look of gratitude in a homeless man's eyes that I've helped does
- long hair is truly a PITA in the summer
- despite my notorious uber-b!tch status, people can still like and respect me
- Kristin and I have WAY too much in common

And you?

- My beard is coming in white, so I better shave it - fast!
- I am not disappointed with "Hail to the Thief."
- I should not have come in to work today.
- If I hear one more commercial for "Seabiscuit" I am going to go nuts.

--that my personality changes according to my surroundings, and I don't always like the changes
--that negative energy from others is extremely draining and serves no positive purpose whatsoever
--that I have control over more than I think
--that I still need to work on the concept of relaxing
--that chiropractors are miracle workers and life without chronic pain IS really possible

--that I really, really, like this feature every week! Smile

- I learned that I don't have to be perfect to inspire someone. And that we're all inspiring someone whether we know it or not.

- I learned that my son knows more about the science of reproduction than the mechanics of sex.

- I learned that I get more done with my boss gone, than when he is here.

- I learned that taking an indimidating task in small chunks is much better than avoiding the task all together.

- I learned that giving something a second chance can be invaluable.

-Socks can actually be too low.
-I've got a stronger will than I previously thought.
-I can pick up my tv and move it short distances (it's heavy, okay?).
-Friends at work are subject to quitting without notice.
-The best day with bad roommates is the day you move out.

That the kid who isn't usually sweet can be very sweet.

that my new official "cruising speed" on the treadmill is 7MPH.

that Bob Dylan still speaks to me

that raising a child who is the exact emotional replica of you can be a curse not a blessing.

that the human body is still in charge and no matter what medical science and the pharmaceutical companies do or say or research or test or market or blither on about--they haven't got a clue as to what makes it tick. we can put a computer on the head of a pin but sorry Charlie, we still can't figure out our own machine to save our lives. It's just the way it is.

that there is a thin line between compassion and pity. Pity induces vomiting in me. I welcome compassion by the boatload. Truly compassionate people are gifts to humanity.

that fear basically rules our lives.

that dancing around the kitchen to the Beach Boys Little Deuce Coupe with your 9 year old daughter is undoubtedly better than an hour in a psychiatrist's office. way way better.

1) Mojitos do rock!!!, g3!

2) Elkid and I do have a lot in common

3) This is long -winded, but...Never, ever, no matter HOW good it sounds at the time eat a "tasty Indian treat enjoyed by Indians everywhere" (direct quote from the box) comprised of chickpeas and lentils and tomatoes that comes in a foil packet, sits on a pantry shelf for two years and then can still be tossed in a bowl and microwaved. Just don't do it.

That no matter how much something bothers you, sometimes keeping it inside is your only option.

That bad things that happen to friends on a running forum can really bring you down, too. Sad

That it's a good thing that WickedFlea is posting more, lurking less! Wink
