I've learned:
- 92 degrees with low humidity feels like 72, while 72 with high humidity feels like 92
- I can take it easy while running and still enjoy myself
- sometimes if you ignore a problem it really will go away
- puppies will eat ANYTHING
- a single look into your best friend's eyes can tell you more about yourself than a lifetime of living

AND YOU???

I'm off for hot-as-hell Spartanburg, SC and won't be back till late Tuesday - catch y'all on the flipside.

LOL we just practice more, that's all! Wink

--that patience truly IS a virtue and a watched pot really does NOT boil any faster!
--that meeting Riff Raffers for the first time never, ever gets old! I LOVE IT!
--that I really can survive four more weeks on the bench as long as I know I'm going to get BETTER
--that age 40 is the perfect age to do my first marathon-and not a day sooner!
--that some things never change and some things will...and both scenarios are OK

I love this thread, it gives me a great chance to reflect on my week!

That tarantulas can fling little tiny microscopic fibers from their legs which can lodge in people's eye and cause a corneal ulcer.

That with some torn roofing material and a big blue tarp anyone can turn their yard "trailer-park-appealable".

That you shouldn't spray paint body outlines on your lawn here, even though roofers have furnished you with the yellow "Caution" tape.

2. That Shelee and elkid are alive and well. Smile

3. That I have one week of work before four weeks of vacation.

4. That having one's birthday on Saturday is like winning the lottery. But without the money.

- I'd better learn how to swim 8/10ths of a mile before next weekend or I'm doomed. Neutral
- My job is boring with no chance for advancement and I'd better learn to love it because there's probably nothing better out there.
- Running in the heat sucks. Running in the early morning sucks even more.
- Granola bars with peanut butter on top are pretty tasty.

tapering for a race is more fun than the weeks of heavy training!!!!!!

striving for a big goal can be mighty scarreeey, frightening, and nerve wracking, but I know that it is the journey to reaching the goal that matters and where a person's character will shine. Look out Ironman here I come......and I am shining pretty damn bright!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I learned that being up my boss's butt is the quickest way to get him to leave me alone.

I learned that my son's father may not be as strong as he thinks he is.

I learned that my son's father trusts me enough to tell me when he is feeling weak.

I learned not to worry when I hear hammering in the tree house. Only when it's quiet.

I learned what it looks like when the Adoption Agency calls a good friend to tell her that they have a baby for her. Evan James will be joining the Mariano family in early August.
