#2-- failing to fold goal pace into training their long runs.
not me
#3-- trying to carry out a long run every weekend
nope
gotta love #11
Some marathoners actually think that walking during the race will improve their times.
I've considered walking 1-2 water stops....else NO WAY

#1 mistake is actually
failing to have the right marathon goal.
he suggests 48 seconds faster than 5k, 32 seconds faster than 10k

I wish I could run a marathon faster than my 5K pace.
edit: Upon further review, I'd be right around 2:10 for the marathon if I ran 48 seconds faster than my 5K pace. I must buy this guy's book.

Although right now I'd settle for just being able to run again period. But that would be impressive, no?
