I like that, too! A nice smushiness is being accomplished there. Now if only we could get a follow-up, with the blood squirting onto the ice.

I wish american/canadian hockey was more open like the European style. Speed and skill as opposed to strength and toughness. The NHL is basically a bunch of thugs on skates.

i suppose you enjoy watching golf and womens hockey?
in an effort to keep this civil:
the NHL is currently being watered down due to expansion and the lovely little system called "the trap".
but the crash banging of hockey is what sets it apart from the finesse of basketball, it's constant pace is what sets is apart from football. it's size and intensity is what sets it apart from european hockey.
that's why canadians add depth to teams, because come playoff time when your grinding the poop out of the other teams europeans, you're gonna win.
anyhoo, thats why i enjoy the Oilers and the Avalanche playing hockey. it's firewagon hockey. the western conference is much more physical and faster then the eastern.
watch the world juniors for outright speed and finesse.
they are toying with the idea of removing the centre line to have long bomb passes... but it's a work in progress.
(ps. with all do respect to womens hockey - it really does get quite violent)
