this is an awesome site. all kinds of stuff, and the prices seem pretty good.

i just picked up a pair of montrail hurricane rigde, last years model, for $75 and free shipping. this years model is about $120.

Cool. I love hiking and camping. We'll have to stick with day hikes for a while. I can't afford to gear up for camping.

I like Back Country too. I used Moose Jaw (excellent service) http://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/, REI http://www.rei.com/, Sierra Trading Post http://www.sierratradingpost.com/Default.asp?wc=true, and Bob Wards http://www.bobwards.com/bobwards/index.jsp for the trip that's coming up. Bob Ward's service sucks. I need my gear by Wed., and specified on the order 3 day shipping...it's still not here.

We had a post on RR a long while back about what we spend $$ on...for me it's hiking/camping gear. I'll try to get the gear on sale, but I won't go with anything that hasn't gotten great reviews because it is miserable hiking all wet in cool weather....or to get back to camp and have no mole skin for your blisters.
