Not much time now, we're fighting over internet use...but just wanted to check in.
After I last posted it took me 3 hours to get from downtown houston to my parents house in the northern 'burbs, long enough we decided to get some sleep and leave in the morning. After debating what perishables would last in a cooler, which appliances to unplug and what to move from windows and up off the floor, we got on the road at 5am yesterday. 1pm we checked the trip odometer: 39.1 miles, I kid not. We would get out of the car to walk to stretch and would have to turn around and walk BACK TO the car. Idle, brake, park. Idle, brake, idle, brake....
we discovered many farm to market roads and eventually got to a point where we could go over 20 by about 3pm. God bless Henry's Hideout "Horniest Bar in Texas" in Fetzer (sp) Texas, first bathroom open, 8 1/2 hours into the trip. I was miserable. Those greasy bikers are my new boyfriends. I hugged them.
um whatelse...
we're staying at my uncle's, family time has hit its max...my cat made the trip Amazing and surprisingly well and he's happy as a lark now except seems to have developed an infection so we're going to my uncle's vet today...
I have a sick aunt and healthy uncle who didn't get to leave...they're near the astrodome, prayers for them
the latest turn makes me feel like its going to be easier on us than originally expected, which is good.
I dread the ride back. Do you think Baylor takes transfer students mid semester?
more when I win the "internet time" straw...
mom's turn....

It was really something, but based on the news stories we're seeing, I think we had a relatively easy go of it.
