However, the wrestlers probably would have aruge with me on that. |
During the Marines junior year in h.s. the wrestling team beat the basketball team in a pick up game...... there weren't any officials so there might have been a few fouls that didn't get called.
Shirt slogans seen at wrestling tournaments: Wrestling. What real men do during basketball season.

Yeah, I've seen quite a few of those rasslin shirts that make fun of basketball, most of them are pretty funny.
At least we don't wear tights!

No...and in fact growing up my parents always had tickets to Milwaukee Bucks game. They're not the snobby type, believe me.

My HS was small so there was not reason to be "snobbish" about any sport. My old HS has since become a "regional" powerhouse in HS BB so I guess now its "snobbish"
Our local HS here in upstate can draw from about 2,000 (yes two thousand) students. The are VERY selective in both the boys and girls' BB teams. As with anything, some kids are the "I'm a god type" and others just say big deal.

At my highschool:
Rowing/Skiing = snob sport
Basketball/Football = hick sport
Everything else fell somewhere in between.
Hockey is the only sport anybody really cares about in Canada. Where I came from only girls and guys who really sucked played highschool hockey. Many schools didn't even have hockey teams because everybody was too busy playing in city leagues (which leads to Canadian Junior which feeds 50% of NHL players).
