I kinda wanted to see the Cubs pull it out, so there would be a possible Cubs-Sox series. I am happy for Florida, though. I went to several Carolina Mudcats games earlier this year to watch Dontrelle Willis before he got called up by the Marlins.
That kid is fun to watch, you can tell he's having the time of his life out there.

Aren't you a Yankees fan?
Congrats to the Marlins, though.
They simply deserved to win. The cubbies got out-hit, out-pitched and out-coached.
Things aren't all that dark in cubbie land:
1. Our pitchers our still very young.
2. This was Dusty's first year.
3. We improved more than anyone else from last year.
4. Chicago will be attractive to free agents now.
I'll cheer for the Marlins if the Yankees make it. However, if the Sox pull it out...Let's just say Cubs fans understand what the Sox fans are going through...
If the Marlins win the whole thing...Maybe they will sell off their entire team again.

Forgot to mention:
Was it just me, or did Wood have some control issues last night? It seemed like an awful lot of breaking balls went into the dirt.

Wait the Pirate don't have any players left for the Cubs to steal

That's just what he's like when he's not on the top of his game. When he's not his best, he's kinda wild.
When he's at his best, he's like what the Braves got to see.
Almost like 2 different guys.

Okay, cool. I just haven't gotten to see him pitch much this year.

Dear Bam,
It's not the Cubbies fault our front office gave them our best players.
You are mad at the wrong organization.
Love,
The Pirates.

I'm hoping to see this happen.
Jason Varitek was my little brother's best friend growing up. I used to take the boys to their baseball practice (the only way my mom let me have the car was to be their chauffer). He was the only one who wasn't a PITA in the car each time.

*sigh*
I would have loved for that Cubs/Sox World Series. I guess that was just a pipe dream. The Cubbies have no one to blame but themselves. When Wood hit that home run, i thought they had it (i know it was early, but when the pitcher homers in a playoff game, i take that as a sign).
I don't think i can root for the Sox anymore. Go Yanks!
