OK, so the movement of the stars and planets determines my destiny? Really? And here I was thinking that was gravity in action.
I can see someone having a casual interest in this, like Tarot cards, but does anyone really take this seriously? It's all so vague, you can buy a bag of fortune cookies and pretty much get the same effect. Plus, as a bonus you get some delicious cookies to eat.
At least with Chinese astrology, they use animals, so the chart looks like a version of that old "See and Say" dial. "The cow says MOOOOOOOOOOOO".
And have you ever met a guy that was into astrology?

I used to get into that stuff when I was in Jr. High. Tarot, numerology, astrology. As I learned more about it, though, I found that most of what is purported to be predictions by these are in reality events that are only said to have been predictions in retrospect. In other words, the events happen and then the predictor says "I told you so" when in reality the facts are merely forced back into the quite general confines of the prediction. For example, the quatrains of Nostrodamus have been used to "predict" events, when in actuality they have predicted nothing. The events occur and people say "oh, that must be what quatrain such-and-such was predicting." If it were a true prediction, we'd know beforehand in some specific detail.

We used to have a biorhythms program on a TRS-80  in high school that was pretty accurate. That's as close as I got to horoscopes.

When I was in Junior High, I was mildly fascinated with astrology, numerology, witchcraft, ESP, etc. I borrowed a lot of books from the library, and each book was more disappointing than the last. Instead of finding truth, or at the very least, something tangible, I discovered a murky mess of incongruities and that all that stuff was bunk. Good thing too. I've saved a lot of money since then. 
And yes, I know a GUY who is totally in to astrology. He's one of our IT guys, even. He did a chart for me. Woo hoo.

That was my first computer. I STILL have it.

I am the exact same as everyone else who was born within a four week span in winter!
According to Chinese astrology, I am the same as everyone born in my birth year. And every 12 years, there is a whole new crop of people, who are all EXACTLY THE SAME AS ME!
