Posted: 11/12/02 - 16:28 Post subject: PICTURES from my Vegas/GC trip, yo!!
HEY folks. Just wanted to share some pics from my trip to Vegas/GC. We're gonna post more later on Yahoo and I'll share them with you but here's just a taste of our trip!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Never. EVER. Am I renting a car from Budget-o-Rama Rental cars AGAIN!!
HA! Actually, we pulled into one of the many 'scenic views' at the Grand Canyon (GC) and what did we see? That's right, the WeinerMobile! I asked the girls why in the heck it was up here and she told me that that's their job...to drive it around and park it in touristy areas...not a bad job, yes?
Grand Canyon was as beautiful as I remembered it. I think I liked the North Rim better though...less touristy...more freedom to wander off and get lost.
---------------------------------
Here's Joy and I outside of the Grand Canyon Caverns. This was one of Joy's highlights. It was pretty neat to go down there. It was 63 degrees year round, no humidity. This was actually a designated bunker during the Cuban Missile crisis and the original water and 'food' was still stored down there to keep the estimated 2,000 people alive for a month. Oh, and there were 3 rolls of toilet paper for them as well... How considerate of the MAN...
---------------------------------
We spent a day in Sedona and it was by far, our favorite place out of the three. We just wished we could've spent more time there. The Red Rocks were a.m.a.z.i.n.g. Joy and I hiked all afternoon. We even found a cactus in the shape of Mickey Mouse! I courageously crossed some turbulent rapids but the pictures didn't turn out Okay, I really just jumped over a puddle but it was scary at the time... We both agreed that we'd like to come back here for a week to take it all in.
---------------------------------
We took a shuttle to the Elvis-O-Rama Museum and we all convinced this character from Jersey (bestest accent, evah!) to get up in front of the bus and sing some Elvis tunes....awwww yeeaah...Jersey Elvis was da bomb, indeed! As for the museum, it was no Graceland, but entertaining still...
----------------------------------
Here's me playing a slot...I look pretty big next to it, yes? We didn't gamble that much...really...we didn't. Played some slots, got some free drinks. On the last night I went down and played some Roulette...which was probably good that I played it on my last night there cuz I could have easily became addicted. We walked away from Sin City, $50 up!...and that strange spot on my face is a reflection of some sort...
-----------------------------------
One of the 'resorts' "Mandalay Bay" had a shark reef exhibit. My favorite place we went to. I've always been infatuated with sharks so you could call this my graceland? Okay, maybe not. But the exhibit was AWESOME. Lots of jellyfish, eels (kinda freaky how they just stare at you), sting rays etc. Oh, and of course SHARKS. Tons of em! The final stop on the tour brings you inside this old ship...and all around you! are sharks! They're swimming above you, below you, the whole deal! Here's me with an 8-footer. I'm the one on the left.
So it was a great trip. Not very relaxing but highly entertaining. Can't see myself wanting to go back right now but maybe someday?
Oh, and yes, I like my black fleece. Thanks for asking.
Joel

OH! And I should mention that I saw Jesus, drunk off his ass stumbling down the boulevard. You don't see that everyday.

Please leave those pics up. Especially the one with you and the shark. It's screaming for you to be cropped out and put in a different situation.

No, we didn't do the burro thing, K. Just hiked a bit. Went to the South Tower. I'll make sure to post pics of that later.
