Posted: 06/19/09 - 12:05 Post subject: Classics for running? Also other recommendations?
So I've been running for about a year in a pair of New Balance trail shoes I got for cheap and they're worn out and done. I run about 3-5k about three times a week. I'm not super-serious about it and just do it to stay in shape. I have two questions:
A) I'm curious if shoes that are classics like Saucony Jazz and New Balance 574s are actually suitable for running? Or if they're only decent casual shoes and would end up doing harm if used for actual running?
B) I recently woke up with plantar fasciitis (I'm guessing because my shoes were well past their milage) and went to the podiatrist to have xrays and to find out I have heelspurs. Because of this I bought some orthotic insoles and my podiatrist said I need "real support". She said I have a pretty regular foot, arch, etc with no extremes. Any recommendations for shoes considering my above info?
Thank you very much for any help you can give!!!
