..............sitting in the hospital all day tomorrow, in a strange town, on my day off, while my girlfriend gets her breast implants. She's a dear friend and I'd do anything for her but this is gonna be tough.
What are you not looking forward to?

Sitting home tomorrow waiting for the "fixit" peeps to decide they don't have the right equipment to fix our swamp cooler.
Then to repeat that the next day when the lady comes back to assess our home for structural damage due to the leak.
My suggestion to you JU: take a couple of very good books.

That was my question also! Although after a few of our more entertaining camping excursions my cooler has looked like a swamp once I got back home.

| Quote: | | The principle involved is simple physics: Dry air can absorb moisture through evaporation. When water evaporates, it absorbs heat. A special type of fan is used to increase the rate of evaporation and make the air cooler, as well as distributing the cool air throughout the home. |

A swamp cooler is a device that uses water to cool the inside of your tent/home etc.
It brings the temp of the inside of your home down 10 degrees. So, if it 110 degrees outside, which happens from time to time, we are screwed.
So, it is our "AC". Not bad for most of the year.
It works most efficiently if kept shady and cool. In fact, some people put big blocks of ice on top of their coolers to cool more efficiently.
Some A-clown decided that the pinnacle of our roof, in full sun, would be the best place for ours.
Now it is broken and leaking water into my son's closet.

Anyways.... I'm not looking forward to the meeting with some government auditors I have in 20 minutes. I just found out about said meeting 10 minutes ago. Therefore I am fully unprepared for it and plan on remaining that way.

If you want to impress the roofers, you'll call it a ridge instead of a pinnacle.

Trust me, these guys wouldn't know a pinnacle if I shoved it up their ridge.
And JU: you are a friend indeed. All day--and then taking her home? wow.
