i'm finally at the point where i can ponytail it...i'd never go shorter than ponytail length. if i do, it's gonna have to be real short..like ms. o'connor.

I've had ponytail length for about a year and I cut it all off last Thursday. It was pretty liberating.
Big con: I have to fix it everyday otherwise the natural curly frizzies take over. No more ponytail cop out.
Bigger con: It's now dark red and I have to wear makeup everyday. No more super dark brown hair making my skin tone more even.
My vote: Do what you want. No one else has to live with your hair but you. Do what's easy for you. Your girlie will think you're beautiful no matter what and her opinion is the only one that really matters.

I've only seen black women around here with Sinead-length hair, but the ones that I have seen looked fabulous.
/honsetly wondering why more people don't try it.

I would love to, I hate fixing my hair. Except, I'm pretty sure I'd look like an alien and/or cancer patient.

Up here women of color look awesome with really short hair. White women either look like boys, are assumed to be lesbians, or are asked how the chemo treatments are going.
