Posted: 02/06/04 - 14:12 Post subject: How/Where do you log your training?
I'm sure this has been a topic before, if so, sorry!
What do you use to log your workouts?
A specific book? Excel? Plain notebook? Online only?
Do you record in more than one place?
Do you ont record at all?
Currently I am using a plain notebook and then about once/week I load the info into Excel. Then I keep an online journal where I put the info. Sometimes I wonder why I put all this info in so many places.

I use a database I developed in Access. I also use the handy-dandy Running Log here at RF.

I use the RF log for online. I also keep a written record at home - that one I put more in as far as what I thought of the workout, how I feel, and so on.

I went ahead and set up a RF log. That's the best interface I've seen for an online log! Nice, simple and clean.
So I'll be using my blank journal for initial logging and notes, Excel for weight training & RF for everything in order to get good totals & whatnot.

I use the coolrunning log. For a while I switched to the RF one, but I switched back because it has limitations like no import/export function and simple query only capability.

Cool Running has an import/export capability? I'll have to check that out.
Thanks!

No, it doesn't have an import function. I had a year and a half of data in the CR one, and didn't want to have to retype it all, so RF's lack of an import function was a serious constraint. But CR does have an extremely easy export function, and the graphing capabilities re. query functions are useful and plentiful. Plus I like that it allows a week start on Mondays, because that follows my training. RF starts on Sundays, which throws off my master spreadsheet totals. PM me if you have more questions.
