Do you find you function better daily when you have something good to look forward to?

It seems to be a large part of my makeup that I need something on the horizon (whether it be registering for a race or a vacation or similar) to buck me up when I'm feeling low. Chronic pain and daily stressful stuff seem easier to handle, and all that.

You?

I am on a break from school right now, starting my next semester in mid-November due to adding a course at the last minute, and I'm really looking forward to starting on the homework again. I love that school is just mine, that the success of it depends solely on me. It's nice to have a break, but I like hitting the books better.

I also am looking forward to Wills 2nd quarter of school. He is a bright student, his teacher thinks he's amazing, and she sent a handbook home of things that we can do that will reinforce some things he will be learning. Lots of math & english exercises, but fun stuff. I also picked up some stuff for him at the learning store, so we'll start on that.

I look forward to just about everyday, time I get to spend with my kids; they are my horizon. I had bought Scrabble for a Christmas present to the family, but Jake got into the Christmas box and it was on the floor in the closet and thought "why wait?" So I am looking forward to playing that with them more and more. I think this will help both of the kids with their spelling, their creative thinking. We played a few games last night and had a blast!!

Yes I do. Right now I really don't have anything immediate to look forward to, so I'm pretty unmotivated.

I think my job being as new as it is yet helps me stay motivated. I look forward to every evening coming home and playing with my son as well, so that always adds to the moto! Very Happy

Wasn't it Phar Lap who said that happiness was "Someone to Love, Something to Do, and Something to Hope for"?

I do work much better looking forward.
