The Lady Go's doll speak got me thinking about this. I had a Tuesday Taylor doll where the head would spin so she could be a blonde or a brunette. I also had a Cher doll that was supersized (like the Darci doll). I remember her long luxurious hair and green chiffon/silver lame evening gown fondly. I also had a lemon jumper - a cord slipped around your ankle and you spun the lemon around your body via leg movement and jumped over the lemon when it came around.
Anybody remember these?
Do you have a memory of a toy from your childhood that no one else recalls?

Chrissy and Velvet dolls
Chrissy was a redhead with green clothes, Velvet a blond in a purple velvet outfit. They each had hair that you could pull up in the middle to make it longer, or push a button so they would have short hair.
These were the only two dolls I ever remember owning (wasn't much of a girly girl).

I still have original lawn darts that I "rescued" from my parents' garage. I had a Chrissy doll, too. But it went bald because I kept cutting the hair (much like my Farrah Fawcett head that you put makeup on and styled the hair for).

We had a lemon jumper and klipity klops.
My sisters had Chrissy and another one, it wasn't called Velvet but I think it was in the same series...anyway, I wouldn't know because I wasn't allowed to touched them.
We had this big-wheel type toy that was orange and round and sort of like a 'flying' saucer (except obviously it rolled) and when you sat in it the two wheels were on either side of you and you could get it to spin by moving the wheels in opposite directions or just go forward...we were the only ones in the neighborhood with one of those, BIG hit. Lots of competition to play with that one.

I had homemade klippity klops.....two tin cans and a rope.......and a Chrissy doll that I really didn't have an interest in until I found that my baby brother would freak out when i yank her hair out and chased him around the house.

Didn't the Lawn Dart Gestapo come knocking on your door during the Great Lawn Dart Purge?

I was a Romper Room junkie (Philly kidlets, witness?) so I think that's where klipity klops came from. Loved those.....and my Hoppity Hop, that ball with the ring on it, which later became Hoppity Horse that you sat on and bounced around the house, driving your mother nuts......and I had the lemon jumper, too.
My favorite for a long time was Toss Across, you had a tic tac toe thingie and had to toss bean bags at it to get your three across, but what was cool was you could toss and knock the other person's X into an O and still win if you were good enough, because the blocks spun around (I know I'm not really explaining this right, anyone have one?)
That game used to get REAL UGLY at my house.
