Posted: 09/30/06 - 22:06 Post subject: today i had to detain someone.
long story short - it involved an old man, a ladder, my manager, and the width of shoes.
the old man kicked my boss after refusing to get down from the ladder and leaving the store.
i saved his life by not letting my manager beat the crap out of him.
long story short.
ps. during this 2 hour even i said "my mom's a priest" to get someone to trust me. it's not a lie, it's just that i couldn't believe i actually said it.
word.

So he left the store on the ladder? Is this one of those motorized ladders like at home depot?

Sorry about that. But seriously, everytime I see an unattended ladder in a store I see it as an accident/incident wating to happen. Somebody should be written up for a saftey violation or something.

JU - each 'section' of our store has 3 ladders. all the shoes are in bulkheads and we use the rolling ladders (that are attached to the wall) to get them down... he climbed up one of them after deciding that one of my coworkers apparently couldn't tell him which shoe was wider, and decided to look for himself.
Mechie - eventually he came down (after we tried to call the non-emergency police line, and told him many times he was going to have to leave the store if he wouldn't follow the rules that were in place for everyones safety)... him and my boss got into it as my boss was attempting to remove him from the store. then he kicked my boss. and then we had to call the police for real.
