Perfect running weather. High and low is within 10 degrees of each other (54-64), cloudy. Definitely a day to get your run on. Look at those hills! Whooowheeeee!
Pretty little city.
Also, they have a nice crop of medicinal mary jane, grown underground.

And then there's Birch Bark Biting. "This is a traditional art form practiced by Cree women. The artist first visualizes her design and then creates it by marking perforations with her teeth on clean, pliable, carefully-folded birch bark. The results are stunning and unique. Several renowned local artists practice this delicate art."

You have to go bear hunting. I don't like the idea of killing a bear, or even looking for trouble, but it would be pretty cool to see one. And hey, you can do it at the Bakers Narrows Lodge, Manitoba's largest drive-in or fly-in lodge. You could even catch something like this:
Now that's a fish!
but then hanging out and watching the sunset on the water, that would be cool too.

It is the birthplace and hometown of Robbie Watt. He drafted in the 8th round by Vancouver in 1974 NHL amateur draft, and drafted 130 overall. This came as a bit of a shock becasue The Hockey News ranked him 37th overall.
Prior to the NHL draft, Robbie played 4 seasons with the Flin-Flon Bombers.
While Rob never played in the NHL, he did play with the Tulsa Oilers, Syracuse Blazers, Columbus Owls, and his last season in was with the Tucson Mavericks.

As it turns out, Flin Flon used to be much more green than it currently is. The have the Green Project, where the students of the city have been laying down crushed limestone in an effort to make the soil more hospitable to greenery. After only four to six weeks, this is what popped up when the Creighton students laid down some limestone:
The limestone really does work wonders. Let's face it: Flin Flon could use more greenery...

I believe that his name is actually Josiah Flintabbatey Flonatin
Al Capp is famous for creating the L'il Abner cartoon
Flinty is the fictional character that inspired the name of this city. Originally built for $5,000, it was restored in 1989.
