Volcano - Dante's Peak
Armageddon - The Core
i bought the muppet christmas carol a few days ago, and it has a preview for a movie about a lion cub that's kidnapped from a zoo and taken away on a boat somewere, while the rest of the zoo family has to break out and save him, and they wander amuck through a city, blah bla blah... it's frigggin madagascar - but not...
i guess this movie was shelved (it even had penguins in it) and William Shatner did the voice... it says coming to theatres... but i don't know guys.
anyway - i just love it when a movie was obviously pitched to someone else, and both companies RACE to get it out first.

You know blue, if you dig deep enough you'll probably find most movie plots are Shakespeare's doing.
How many ways can you show love, hate, envy, revenge, etc etc. Sooner or later you get repeats...

I find it very annoying they make remakes of remakes. Plots are the same, its only the words that get changed (usually adding a few four letter ones)

Yabbut The Core goes into the Earth and not into Space. It's totally different.
Antz - A Bug's Life.
They come in sets.

The only thing against this is that there was a decade in between Destiny and Family. Most of the others listed thus far were came out right around the same time.
Alexander almost ended up being the same way. Baz Luhrman (Moulin Rouge) had been working on his Alexander movie at the same time as Oliver Stone. Luhrman just never got his done.
