My first attempt at a 18-20M was unsuccessful on Monday: cut short due to bad rain. Undaunted, I will set out once more at 430pm today. I've rearranged my "workload" and personal responsiblities (no small feat) to carve out some time for this. At my current supah fast pace, I predict it will take me 3.5-4 hours depending on how far I go, extra time allotted for the rain that's lightly falling now. Here's some backup info from our friends at weather.com to help you make an educated guess:
KEY: time - prediction - °F - Feels Like - Dew Point - Precip. - Humid. - Wind
4PM Mostly Cloudy 76° 79° 70° 10% 82% From SW at 10 mph
5PM Mostly Cloudy 75° 79° 70° 10% 83% From SW at 10 mph
6PM Mostly Cloudy 75° N/A° 70° 10% 84% From SW at 9 mph
7PM T-Storms 74° N/A° 70° 60% 86% From the W-SW at 8 mph
8PM T-Storms 73° N/A° 70° 60% 88% From the W-SW at 7 mph
9PM T-Storms 72° N/A° 69° 60% 90% From the W at 6 mph
Betting options:
- actual distance run v. proposed
- if run cut short due to inclement weather, when will The Kid be forced inside?
- if run NOT cut short, how long will it take?
Other interesting bets will be taken. Just propose them.

No bets on anything, but lots of good wishes and thoughts. I just hope it goes well. But it will.

Oh Alan, come on and bet! You don't get many opportunities to poke fun at my pain! I will remember your training tips and the "lit up like a Christmas tree = bad" analogy.
I see that the po-po is finally starting to get realistic. Just a month ago he was predicting a 2:20 half from me ....

Just a thought, not a bet. Schedule time to run for 3.5 hours, regardless of distance. Get your body used to being out there for a long period of time before you look at ground covered. That's a hell of an accomplishment.

Good luck Kid! You can do it, who cares about the time...it's suppose to be a long slow training run.

and our winner = Cappy! for accurately predicting an 11:30 pace for my 20.3M run in 3:53:18! For once goddess Athena was smiling on this Athena, because NO RAIN! Though 78 degrees and 94% humidity didn't feel so good.... Thank you for all the well wishes, guys.

that was fubby! Though it took less than 5 minutes to write the run report. Sadly, the coffers of the Get Elkid Rich Quick Fund are empty because our donations are non-existent, but we have some lovely parting gifts for you ....
