I'd hate to see a race that large with a large shortage of volunteers. Can you imagine the madness?

So are you saying the usual volunteers have drawn a line between church and road race?
Some of the biggest races in America are on Sundays... Chicago Marathon, Bloomsday, Bay to Breakers, NYCM.

Not Church related, but the fact that it is in the middle of a 3 day weekend. they expect a lot of people are out of town.

If any of the past volunteers are like me, they've decided to actually run the race this year! Sounds like a new wave of volunteers are needed.

The churches always raise high sands when the Peachtree Road Race falls on a Sunday. There will be plenty of letters to the editor admonishing all those runners for forcing them to change their routines for the morning.
It takes about 4,000 volunteers to put on the Peachtree Road Race.

Are you kidding, or are you serious? I'm debating coming to Atlanta to run this race.

I'm more on the kidding part but since my husband is seriously considering a move to Atlanta there is a hint of seriousness behind it.

It is possible to be a volunteer as well as run the race.

I wanna have some fun while I'm done there too! I think I will have a pretty exciting host.

Looks like I will be recouperating from my knee surgery on the 4th... so I will most likely be out or I would volunteer as I did previously for the Atlanta Marathon.
