Absolutely. Recently saw a show about Jack Paar and Woody Allen did his stand-up routine on Paar's show....uh, that would be The Tonight Show.
Ya gotta start somewhere.

I'd put Carlin ahead of Pryor too. Maybe even Jonathan Winters, in his prime.
But... WHERE IS TRIUMPH THE COMIC INSULT DOG?!

Allen was pretty funny in stand up. Not sure I'd give him #4.
I agree, Carlin over Pryor, but it's only a CLOSE over. Pryor was pretty dagburn funny.
If you listen to a lot of Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor, you'll hear where Murphy got a lot of his stuff.

Its like they had to push them up because they are women, which is annoying. I might argue Joan doesn't deserve a spot on that list at all....

I never liked Pryors stand up. I guess it just wasn't my "time". His movies weren't bad tho. Rodney Dangerfield always creeped me out. Nothing is worse than an old guy joking about sex.

Absolutely right! As we old guys know full well, sex is not a joking matter.
(Man, if that isn't a straight line....)
