so many on that list I really don't think of as stand up comedians. they may have started there, but it isn't their strong suit. it just got them in the door.
some of them should have stayed in stand up. ellen is hilarious and now that she has a talk show, she may be right where she needs to be. Roseanne was great as a stand up, but she really knew how to screw up a good sitcom. Dennis Miller, Bill Maher, I could do without them now, but thought they were funny in their stand up days. Did Adam Sandler really ever do stand up? I thought he hit it when he was on SNL, but that's not a stand up gig. Wanda Sykes is way funnier than a lot of the people above her.

Redd Foxx is WAY too low.
Gallagher in the Top 100?? Maybe there were only 100 stand up comedians to pick from...

Carlin should be 1.
No way is Roseanne/and or Woody Allen funnier than Sam Kinison or Eddie Murphy.
Another Wanda Sykes fan here too.

Let me put it this way...
I thought it was really odd that he took a serious role on Law and Order.

Let us not forget his role as Det. John Munch on Homicide!

Belzer was hysterical as a stand-up comedian.
