Anyone have underground irrigation? Do you like it? Does it take a lot of water pressure?
I have to move a sprinkler 24 times to water my entire yard. So you can see why I'm asking.
We are on hard clay that is a mother to dig in. I noticed my neighbors last year had a cheesy above ground system with little hoses running everywhere and several small sprinkler heads that they stuck in the ground, but this year it's gone.

Grass isn't that important, is it? You're the queen of off-beat livin'. There's got to be a native landscaping scheme you can find, no?

I mow my friggin' yard enough as it is. I'll be damned if I'm gonna water it so I can mow it even more.

I love the fact that I have as much lawn as I do. Green is good. I'm just tired of leaping up at regular intervals and dragging 250 feet of hose around.

I like to think of my watering chores as providing improved vegetation for the local wildlife. I came home from a really long ride a couple of weekends ago, I was so hot and tired and I was setting up a soaker hose that I thought it would feel so good to just lie in the grass and let it mist me, I got down to my hands and knees before realizing there was an EFFING SNAKE RIGHT UNDERNEATH ME!!!!
I went inside and turned on the AC. I hope Sammy Snake enjoyed his gentle soaker hose misting.

At this point i'm thinking about laying some oil absorb down and see if it dries out our lawn. at this point i think i see a primordial ooze forming and it's my duty to stop it's life starting capabilties before a newer and stronger life form develops and makes us extinct.

I want an inground system, too, but I know it's going to be expensive and my yard will have to be ripped up to put it in. So right now I do the hose dance too. I set my kitchen timer to remind me when to go out and move it.
