I have been lazy for a long time. My doctor has advised me to change my lifestyle. I started to eat healthy stuff (yuck!) and want to get in shape. I want to lose my beer belly. I was thinking of swimming as my favorite sport to get in shape. What do you think?

Swimming is an excellent sport and you did right when you decided to start with it. It develops all of your muscles and is great calorie burner. There is just one thing you have to pay attention to and that is your appetite. Swimming has tendency to increase appetite so you inadvertently start to eat more and thus undermine your efforts to get rid of the excess pounds. So basically you have already started to eat healthy food. When you add swimming workouts to your weekly schedules your pounds will just melt off.
