They. do. not.

LeMond bikes are hand built somewhere on this continent. Trek are sweatshop built overseas.

As for details, it's a LeMond Tourmalet, Bontrager Race/105 group with Ultegra rear derailleur. And it's frikking sexy.
They don't have an R700 Cannondale in my size, but it's the same component level as this bike. They do have an R500, but for a little more money if the Tourmalet fits we are going to live happily ever after.

OK, Trek owns LeMond. The higher-end Treks are made in Wisconsin. Low-end stuff is made in China. PS - Your wheels are made by a company that Trek owns.

That's OK. I don't have a problem with Trek. My 1000 is what it is, and never claimed to be anything else.

My opinion.

Your buying abike that you will not be happy with in a year. I agree with the LBS loyalty, but its your money and you can get a better bike for the same or lower price.

I said in an earlier thread that I had the R700 c'dale, nope the R800. I bought it for a 1000 bucks. 105 components and a really great bike. It was 1800 but they wanted to get trid of it so I bought it. I wanted more in less than a year. So will you.

If you ride, don't settle on 105 groupo, get the Ultegra or better. trust me the shifting is much better, the wear factor is greater and the knowledge that maintenace is less is a mental boost.

If you have the 1000 and have a slight tough time getting to the big ring up front, you will have really hard time getting there on the 105's. Lucy rides my C'dale and refuses to shift gers because it is so hard to shift to the large chain ring up front. If she had Ultegra, it would fly up.

Just my 0.02

Oh no. I love that bike. And I got it for a steal from a friend of Larry's who rode it about 50 miles and decided he wanted something else.
