If you were single and healthy, would you consider not having health insurance for a few years and invest the money instead?

i risked it for a while. i actually got it only so my yearly girly dr check ups would be covered. three months after getting insurance, i had my thyroid removed. 
would i ever not have it again, if my health let me? NO!

I went for years when I was younger without health insurance. 
Don't think I ever needed a Dr. either.
