how do you clean a keyboard without wrecking it?
i get the feeling compressed air won't do the trick here.

Isn't that one of the 101 uses for Coke?
My cow-orkers seem to think so...

I've unplugged the keyboard and used a toothbrush dipped in windex to scrub my keys. I've also taken the keys off the keyboard (it can be done, I spilled Nestle Quick on my keyboard once and had to disassemble it to clean it).
If you're prone to having an icky keyboard, get a keyboard cover.

Get a new one. I spilled some honey on a keyboard a few weeks ago.

I've managed to waste a couple of keyboards by spilling coffee on them.
I pop the keys off to clean them.

The only surefire way is to take off all the keys. If it's a laptop keyboard... you're boned.

for destops unplug the keyboard,
for desktops and laptops turn upside down and shake vigoriously
take alcohol pads and run along the non-keyed areas
take fresh alcohol pad and run along keys.
let dry
turn back on, remember to plug keyboard back in first for desktops.
