there is a family in the neighborhood with an ATV 4 wheeler thing. and today the teenagers are taking turns riding it up and down my street. my very extremely wet, newly-paved-so-slick-as glass street. very fast, so fast that it sounds like a frikking semi driving by every few minutes.

im just waiting for someone to get really hurt... Neutral

In my current neighborhood we've got a little girl that drives a go-cart around unsupervised. She's one of Nichole's friends so she's like 8 or 9. I can't wait to move.

My kid rides a 4 wheeler and dirt bikes constantly. He knows hell hath no fury like his old man if I ever get wind he's riding w/o his helmet. The only time riding it w/o a helmet is permitted is if we're using it for yard work like a tractor would be used. It also helps that his favorite ATV magazine refuses to publish any photos of people on ATV's unless they are wearing headgear.

Call the popo on them - they are generally illegal to ride on city streets anyways. You might save a life.

And even if it's not officially "illegal" you can claim it's a nusiance, I'd bet...

A paved residential street... I can't see how it couldn't be illegal.

But I imagine the popo may be able to "discuss" it with them and make them see it as a safety issue. It may help in the long run.

They totally busted one of the kids in our neighborhood for doing the same thing one time. He was heading south on the street doing ~40MPH (in a 25 MPH zone) and a few minutes later, he's coming the opposite direction very, very slowly being followed by a police cruiser. LOL
