I even have at least two lakes within a half mile of my home.

Now I'm impressed.
Where were you at when you started to learn to swim? I mean, did you have already logged tons of bike miles and ran multiple marathons or were you at a moderate level of training and with the swimming decided to ratchet it up?
When did you do your first IM?

You're my hero. Having to re-learn my incredibly poor swimming technique is a major obstacle in my head when I think about tri's.

first tri was a sprint one, and did it on a mountain bike, came out of the water 2nd to last just so happy to be alive......I used to race mountain bikes but never road biked until I started competing in tris, started with a road bike and then got a tri bike about 2.5 years ago, I have run marathons since college so the running was the easier and more natural part for me.
Dancer on the other hand had not run a marathon before her signing up for the first IM, she ran one during the first 6 months of training for the IM.

I tell you what. If I ever get my life in order and can start tri training again...I want Dancer behind my right wing and you behind my left. I'll be sure to finish with perservence and Can-Do Attitude. It seems fitting that a torpedo like her and clown like you would be all the wind I'd need.
I just dream of the day where I can live out this "DREAM".
One day...one day...perhaps?
I'll count on the two of you for that "wind"
