How, I repeat HOW are you supposed to tie a knot in this slippery stretch cord you make homemade jewellery out of? I'm entering hour two and about to snap and use bad words in front of small children. All my knots keep sliding right off the stuff. Is there a secret password or something I don't know about?

that jelly cord stuff is useless. why do they sell it?
i've even tried melting it into a knot but i wouldn't suggest you start lighting matches. 
next time use elastic, it ties really easily and they love stretching it over their heads until it breaks and then the beads fly everywhere!
