I can't believe your company does not have an evacuation plan. I thought that was required by insurance or something.

We have one, I think I have it in a binder in my desk somewhere, filed right next to my memo about the new cover sheet for TPS reports. dunno We have 'gone over' what to do, particularly since 9/11, but I think the big problem was no one got the official word to evacuate. My supervisor was told NOT to evacuate. I told her "sorry, its smoky, I'll be downstairs..." I think there is going to be a little bit of hell raised whenever we are back at the office by several, those who were not informed to evacuate, those who were and didn't share the info, those who wonder where the hello dolly we all are right now, our stupid clients who are probably in a panic....

Oh, forgot to answer....We don't know, but there is plenty of speculation and rumor...Something blew up apparently, a computer, power source of some kind...various things were said, I don't know what it really was. And people around it were burned and taken in ambulances.

Oh my goodness! Shocked

We have semi annual fire drills in our building. I'm on the top floor of a 12 story building. Some people don't even bother to participate and probably don't know where the stairs even are!

I'm glad to hear that everyone is ok for the most part!

Scary stuff.

Your two statements conflict each other. Apparently your company learned nothing from 9/11. Thank god you're OK.

Are you sure that an announcement wasn't made? Or is this one of those times where your blatant disrespect for authority may have put you in danger?

I'm just trying to save you from yourself.

JHC... glad you are ok...
We had a mock test last year and nobody even cared to evacuate quick.... I dont know where my emergency rally point is (apparently there is one).... I shall note it down straight away.
