Well my g/f Steph and I are hosting a Thanks Giving Gathering for all the orphans in out skate club. as of Sunday we thought it might be a bust with 5 maybe. well i just got an Email saying that we are up to 20
i called and she is counting spoons and forks now.
tonight we'll get an extra extra table from my place and see how many chairs we can fit in now.
can we say buffet style??

no more Kids table for this 36 year old
poor Steph is going nuts ( it was my idea ) but she is enjoying it. i think after this is said and done i owe her big time.
anyone got some ideas? she aint big on egtravagance. more like some thing cute with meaning. i was thinking a surprise picnic. ( me prepping EVERYTHING of cource) or a coupon book of ( well never mind of what )

That would be a really nice gesture!
Those orphan's holidays were always some of our most fun. It's great to give people a place to go so they don't have to be alone. You guys rock!

Wow, thats really cool that you are doing this, I bet you make some of these kids entire holiday season.
My only advice to you re: 20 settings comes from my experience of having thanksgiving the year mom was rushed to the emergency room and we had 15 guests on their way I learned a lot that year but what I can pass onto you (besides my mother's dressing recipe) is paper plates at least and buffet style!!

i told her the same thing about the plates and"silverware" but she does not want to do that. She wants to show off her good china and silverware.
it was put out as a potluck so there will be (hopefully)several dishes brought. I have turkey responsibities and a potatoe dish. she is making 3 dishes as well. a dressing, cranberry (homemade, not from a can) sauce. the more i get to know her, the better. mmmMMMMM homemade cranberry sauce.
