Dear Moira MacDonald,
I cannot believe your level of audacity to label joggers as morons. Running is obviously a concept that you do not grasp. A lot of people run for pleasure. Just because you are not one of these people, does not give you the right to pass judgment on everyone in the running community and resort to name-calling. This is totally unprofessional behavior, and I am surprised that a newspaper would allow such bologne to be published. You are a disgrace to the entire journalism community.
Thank you for your time,

What nerve this chick has! I cc'd the editor as well.

I didn't read all the threads here, but it reminds me of that article that dude wrote after the tour saying that Cycling isn't a sport.

Sent a little email and just thought I'd share.
| in my email, I wrote: | Ms. MacDonald,
Although I am offended by your recent article claiming that joggers are morons, I understand your reasoning all too well. It's a common practice to judge something one knows nothing about.
It's quite obvious that you know nothing about running or, most probably, exercise in general. If you did you would realize that both running and exercise can help reduce the risk of numerous life-threatening diseases, including coronary artery disease and certain types of cancer. Also, the weight-bearing aspect of running can help delay the onset of osteoporosis, which by the looks of your photo, is something in which you should be interested.
I could continue with numerous examples of valid and reliable research about the benefits of running, but it would be a waste of time. You just wouldn't get it. So instead I'll share something I told a client when she asked me in that same "I don't get it" tone why I ran.
Because I can. I can go running at any time in any place. I don't need any special equipment, other than running shoes (not sneakers), which cost me about $80 (US). I don't need any type of membership, nor a specific time to go running.
I can leave my house and turn left, or turn right. I can run for a few minutes or a couple of hours. I can run hard and fast, or nice and easy. It's all up to me. And even if I ran the exact same route at the exact same time every day, each run would be different. Because every day is different, as I am different every day. And last, but not least, it makes me look good.
Running is simple and basic. Just watch little kids play - they run.
You've stated that you've had problems when you run: "When I run it tastes like blood in my mouth, my bones rattle and my brain feels like it's inside a martini shaker."
Maybe you're just not doing it right. And how moronic is that?

i dont' have my entire reply to post for you...
the closing went something like this:
"while i can suggest a doctor for your mouth bleeding sensation, your brain rattling i cannot provide an easy solution. however based on your comments i'm inclined to hypothesis that perhaps your brain matter is simply just smaller then that of the general population, hence all that excess movement"
coupled with a
"ps. lovenhugs, eatmyass"

i think she has gum disease. gingivitis. don't try to blame it on running silly woman.
GO FLOSS YOUR TEETH Ms. McDONALD. then see a dentist. in the meantime, i'd keep the TicTacs handy if i were you.
