I so want one of these. It's too friggin cold out there to get into an un-warmed-up Jeep!! I don't want to start it and then leave it since we obviously don't live in a safe neighborhood, so wondering what y'all think about these gadgets. I'd have to have it installed too, simply because it's too friggin cold to be out there working on the Jeep!

I drive a standard transmission vehicle. I'm afraid that I'll forget to put it in neutral and use the parking break. My car would either make a lovely lawn ornament or a charming garage post. My husband is wonderful. He leaves a little bit before me so he usually starts it.

Seems like half the office here has those. Scares the poop outta me to be walking through the lot and have cars starting on their own.
Personally, I prefer the good solid feeling of a well froze seat...kinda like a church pew, makes ya sit straight and pay attention.

yeah my late model '84 with vinyl seats is quite the comfort mobile. Dang temp gage doesn't even budge by time I get to the gym in the morning. It starts blowing actual heat about the time I pull in my driveway on the way home....

My dad has one of these for his truck. Unfortunately, it's still in the box in his garage.
I have a garage and my Jeep wams up pretty quick.

I want one too. One of my partners at the gym has another business and he installs a lot of them. He has told me the ones you buy yourself in the stores and install yourself aren't worth a sh*t. If you are gonna get one have it professionally installed. $300-$400 I think.

Yeah, and see that's just too much money for this girlie. I guess this winter we're just gonna have to tough out the bitter cold. <sigh>

I'll pass on the lawsuit, thanks.

I heard that you cannot operate the car with one of these. Maybe I heard wrong.

Look, don't go talking logical mechanics to me, buddy. Peddle that sh!t somewheres else!!!
And really, I have no clue how you couldn't drive off with a car using this method. Someone said it, I believe it (and I think it was my Dad, so it's practically the Gospel to me you know).

Wouldn't the steering wheel still be locked as well as the gear selector?

I wish I had one! My Jeep warms up fast, too, but I still wish I could do it from the house.
